Blackpool’s not so Hidden Gems

Blackpool's not so Hidden Gems

Blackpool illuminations

News Archive 2010 and 2011
Day trips are a big thing every summer with the rising cost of travel and holiday packages and for those that don’t own a car, car rental is a great way to see parts of the country without the year long cost and commitment of owning your own and RelayRides truly are the hidden gem of car rental.
Being a Lancashire lass Blackpool has always been a year round destination for day trips and short stays as its affordable and stuffed full of fun, cheap and exciting things to do.
Stanley Park has always been a huge draw for me and the kids just love it. There is boating, a park, a cute cafe that serves THE best ice cream, pitch and put and a little visitors centre , there are always live bands and performances running through the summer months so you are never short of things to do and bar the ice cream its all free!
Marton Mere is another great day out if you love the outdoors! There are lovely walks and some beautiful wildlife to spot and its great for dogs walks, pond dipping and just getting away from the hustle and bustle.
With the recent renovations completed on the Winter Gardens this is a must see spot, there are evening events and gigs, a beautiful restaurant and coffee bar and the architectural renovations are just stunning and recently opened is the Illuminasia which is an indoor light show, defiantly worth a stop!
The best fish and chips in town has to be Harry Ramsdens, it’s almost as old as Blackpool itself and has always prided itself on fresh local fish and great hospitality!
We can’t discuss Blackpool without its world famous illuminations, with a fresh line up each year and a spectacular  opening gig its defiantly not to be missed.
And finally the best place to take in a show in town is The Grand Theatre, its wonderfully cosy with original features and isn’t to large, there are no bad seats!
So if you fancy making the trip, rent that car from RelayRides and make a real day of it! It’s a simple step by step process making it economical and safe, and should you have your own car you don’t need whilst away, advertise it and let it make YOU money!
